They are known for a lively arts and music scene, as well as several well loved restaurants along Water St. Hallowell sits on the banks of the tidal Kennebec River, which provides picturesque viewing of bald eagles and leaping sturgeon.

I’ve stayed at lots of AirBnBs all over the country, but after staying here, this one might just be my favorite—and it’s just an hour from my home in Bangor! I needed a home-away-from-home for a focused work sprint and this place was perfect. The downstairs was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of room for me to work in different modes - by the fire, at the kitchen island, overlooking the downtown, on the deck. When I needed a break during the day, I loved popping out the door to take a quick walk around town or on the rail trail. At night, I’d put my project out of mind by retiring upstairs. Spotless bathroom with tub, comfy movie area with kitchenette, and a quiet bedroom. Sarah and Drew are ideal hosts, and they have created a near perfect rental with this spot!

Beautiful apartment right in the town center. Space was sparkling clean and more spacious than the pics! Cozy fireplaces, great seating and a sweet view from the kitchen windows. The wireless bedside phone charges were clutch. The view from the deck was amazing. Drew and Sarah were quick to respond to messages and super friendly. Don't hesitate to book this amazing property.

This place is stunning! The exposed brick, gas fireplace, and open floor plan made us feel right at home. The pantry is well stocked with coffee, tea, and treats. Every detail is exactly as advertised. The owners were super responsive and attentive. The location can't be beat - in the midst of fun shops and restaurants. It's the nicest Airbnb we've ever rented.

Drew and Sarah’s apartment was absolutely lovely—comfortable, well cared for, and exactly as advertised. It’s just steps away from great food and a wonderful mix of independently run businesses, including an excellent used bookstore and local pastry shops. From start to finish, Drew and Sarah were proactive and incredibly responsive. Having stayed in many Airbnbs, I can honestly say this place just made sense. The hosts clearly understand what it means to be great hosts: they take the responsibility seriously and do an exceptional job caring for both their home and their guests. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and very much hope to return in the future.

Drew and Sarah’s apartment in Hallowell is just lovely and well equipped. I left with a shopping list of things I want to buy for my home that were in the apartment including the incredibly comfortable mattresses. We didn’t want to leave.

Drew and Sarah's Hallowell apartment is truly remarkable. Absolutely perfect for exploring the charming town, enjoying many restaurants, shops, and events or just lounging around in a great apartment. The coffee/tea/snacks they left for us were awesome and the various popcorn flavors were a special treat. So many lovely details to this place, from furniture to appliances to decorations (and THANK YOU for leaving a beautiful Christmas tree up! Cozy, romantic, and festive--we loved it.) The location is ideal, both for Hallowell and the surrounding Augusta area. Could not get any better than this.

Perfect AirBNB for Hallowell, ME! Drew & Sarah's place was absolutely perfect for us. The location is right in downtown, could easily walk to restaurants, coffee, shops, etc. Also - being right on the water was amazing - watching bald eagles flying around and landing in the area. For us it had plenty of space. Having multiple zones also was terrific - different spaces for people to hang out / relax. But - what made this BnB truly special were Drew & Sarah. They were responsive, they were accommodating, they were the perfect hosts. We were there during Christmas, and they had the house decorated (holiday pillows, a Christmas tree). They knew of our arrival time and worked to try and help us get checked in early on the day of arrival. They knew we had to host some family for a meal, and went out of their way to clear some snow early enough to allow our guests safe entry. I don't have enough characters in this review to really express how great of an experience they gave us!

Find us

Hallowell's downtown and historic district are walkable, with both on and off street parking available. Centrally located, both Augusta and Gardiner are a few minutes drive North to South. Within walking distance (.7 miles) of the downtown are the Vaughan Woods. This non-profit nature preserve features waterfalls, stone bridges, and miles of hiking trails.
